E4. Part Two - School readiness, falling behind and homework with Dr Justin Coulsen
Episode Description
In this episode, we are talking about school readiness and the academic pushdown.
Wondering when your child is ready for school? In this episode, we answer that question.

Key Points We Covered
Children will not fall behind during this time in isolation
Children of younger age will only need 1.5-2 hours maximum of learning time at home to cater for the actual curriculum
Sibling rivalry is universal and is a way for people to learn conflict resolution and to live with people with differing outlooks
Forced apologies can encourage inauthentic words and lying so we want to encourage genuine apologies with Justin’s 4 step apology framework:
1. Say you are sorry
2. Show you understand what went wrong ie explain what you are sorry for
3. Show empathy and perspective ie explain how it affected the person who was hurt
4. Ask for forgiveness
