Join us as we teach you the art of whittling (carving wood with a pocket knife) so that you can create your own primitive weapons for imaginary play.
Children will use their imaginations to create weapons including bows and arrows, spears, knives, daggers, slingshots, swords, axes, mallets and magic wands all carved from wood. Children will use secateurs and hand saws to cut down invasive weed species like Chinese Elm or Ochna and use nature's gifts (think sticks, rocks, palm fronds) and craft supplies to create their weapons! Children will have full (supervised) use of our hand tools (including bow saws, pen knives, hammers, hand drills), a myriad of natural resources and craft materials to use as their imagination desires.
